Types of Articles

EEH accepts various types of articles in the field of ecology, environment and health, including reviews, research articles, perspectives (commentaries), editorials and correspondence. The description of each manuscript type in detail is shown as below:

Reviews (length limit: 10,000 words excluding references , 8 figures/tables)

Review articles present, contrast, and combine information from previously-published research to address a specific question or issue related to ecology, environment and health. Authors are required to integrate and critically analyze information from previous research. They should identify information gaps, make recommendations for future research, and draw conclusions based on the stated purpose of the review.Systematic methods, including comprehensive and clearly defined search strategies and study eligibility criteria, must be used to identify the relevant literature and current state of knowledge in an unbiased and comprehensive manner.

Research Articles (length limit: 8,000 words, 6 figures/tables)

Research Articles published by EEH report the original research only with exceptional importance. The EEH scopes falls within the interaction among ecology, environment and health, which are supposed to be great and far-reaching significance to green and sustainable development.

Perspectives (commentaries)(length limit: 6,000 words, 5 figures/tables)

Commentaries provide perspectives on ecology, environment and health topics or problems. Commentaries that stem from discussions at workshops and other forums should acknowledge the meeting content and its purpose but should not be presented as a narrative summary of the meeting.

Editorials (length limit: 1,500 words, 4 figures/tables)

Editorials are published only by invitation from the Editor-in-Chief. EEH editorials comment on journal practices and policies, and on topics relevant to the ecology, environment and health.

Correspondence(length limit: 1,000 word, 3 figures/tables)

These manuscripts provide scholarly comment on papers appearing in the research section (Research Articles, Reviews, Perspectives). Correspondence should be submitted within twelve months of the publication date of the original paper and must raise substantive scientific or technical questions. Well-justified exceptions to this timeframe will also be considered. Correspondence that consists mainly of opinion will not be considered. The author(s) of the original paper will be given an opportunity to prepare a response within one month of receiving the Correspondence. Correspondence on previously published Correspondence will not be considered, and personal invective will not be tolerated. Correspondence may undergo peer review at the determination of the assigned editor. 

Freestyle Submission 

In order to facilitate the authors to contribute, EEH does not have specific requirements on the format of the manuscript in the refereeing process; when your paper is at the minor revision stage, you will be requested to put your paper in to a 'correct format' for acceptance and to provide the items required for the publication of your article.
