From October 11th to 15th, 2021, Phase one of the Fifteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) was held in the beautiful Spring City, Kunming. The world will seek together the blueprint of future global biodiversity governance. The theme of the conference is "Ecological Civilization-Building a Shared Future for All Life on Earth", which is the message of mankind to the beautiful vision of "harmonious coexistence between man and nature".
Eco-Environment & Health (EEH) Advisory Editorial Board member and Director of Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences Keqiang Zhao, Associate Editor Haigen Xu, Journal Preparation Executive Director Shengtian Zhang, Executive Editor Huan Zhong, Head of Editorial Office Xiaoyan Tang, Head of Publishing Office Qiuhui Chen were invited to attend the 2020 UN Biodiversity Conference Ecological Civilization Forum. This is the first appearance of EEH in an international event.
Director Zhao Keqiang, the Advisory Editorial Board member, made a statement that in the face of global challenges such as the loss of biodiversity, people who love nature and cherish life should work jointly to curb and reverse the trend of biodiversity loss, creating a beautiful future with harmonious co-existence between man and nature. He also looks forward to the publication of the wonderful research results in EEH from the participants at COP15.
During the conference, EEH promoted the journal by setting up exhibition boards and issuing promotional leaflets, which received an overwhelming response. On the same day, EEH released its first promotion article & concept video on the journal’s official WeChat, and the number of views reached 20,000 within 6 hours. EEH also carried out simultaneous publicity activities on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Weibo, and the official website, which greatly enhanced the journal’s global visibility.
As an important meeting in the field of ecological environment, the UN Biodiversity Conference adopted the Kunming Declaration. It was the first step of the blueprint for global biodiversity governance in the next 10 years to disseminate from here to the world. EEH also set sail from here, seizing the opportunity of this global event to march on in the field of ecological environment and health, and join hands with scientific researchers in related fields around the world to promote global ecological environment governance and biodiversity protection.
